GlobalVolunteering Day from MAPFRE We celebrate Global MAPFRE Volunteering Day to thank our volunteers for their contribution and collaboration to build #AMoreHumanFuture, helping those who need it most. We invite MAPFRE volunteers from around the world and their families to be part of the global “Box of Hope” initiative. The main goal of this initiative, which we are repeating for the second consecutive year, is to make thousands of people smile over the Christmas season, a very special time that many people experience in solitude. The volunteers prepared a shoe box containing a gift and a personalized letter with a positive message. This initiative helps volunteers feel part of the same team and also contributes directly to SDG 3 “Good health and well-being”. More than 1,800 volunteers, including employees and family members, were involved, benefiting more than 7,000 people. In Honduras, volunteers brought joy to 55 children from Aldeas Infantiles SOS in Tegucigalpa. They brought them gifts and shared a fun-filled morning full of games, as well as a healthy snack. In Mexico, volunteers knitted 150 scarves for the elderly and prepared boxes that included hygiene items and sweet treats (made by the Centro de Atención Down A.C.), as well as personalized letters addressed to each beneficiary expressing their best wishes.
