This initiative, in addition to planting more than 700 species of trees in San Mateo Park, located in Curacaví, created a space for reflection and meditation in support of the families of the victims of road accidents. El Salvador In El Salvador, a talk was organized to raise awareness about protecting the environment of the La Libertad beaches and afterwards there was a release of Olive Ridley turtles as part of the conservation effort for this species on the coasts of El Salvador. Guatemala In Guatemala, on May 27, 2023, our volunteers, together with the Asociación Rescate y Conservación de Vida Silvestre (ARCAS), conducted a clean-up in a natural part of Aldea El Cebollito, Hawaii and Escuintla beaches. The beach clean-up benefited about 100 families living near the beaches. At the same time, the association gave them information about wildlife conservation and the importance of caring for and protecting various species. Panama In Panama, to celebrate International Earth Day and to strengthen awareness of environmental care, beach clean-ups were carried out in the Malecón area, in Costa del Este. It was a morning of teamwork, fellowship and love for the environment, in which 104 volunteers participated, including collaborators and family members, who together collected 2,252 kilograms of waste. Uruguay In Uruguay, to mark World Environment Day the activity “NMC cigarette butt collection - Everyone for the environment” was organized. Our volunteers took part, along with members of the Colectivo No Más Colillas, for a day of picking up cigarette butts from the ground. After the collection, the members of the project gave an informative talk, the cigarette butts were counted and the impact of these volunteering actions was discussed.
