Learning to save lives together
Reacting quickly to cardiorespiratory arrest, a vital difference
Health
Education is not only about acquiring academic knowledge, but also about learning to live together in a respectful way and becoming responsible citizens, playing an active role in society.
One of the ways in which we can help the people around us is by being able to act in the event of an emergency. Did you know that every minute of delay in responding to a cardiorespiratory arrest can reduce survival by 10%?
At Fundación MAPFRE we want to promote a caring society, where everyone can help when necessary. That is why we have launched the programme ‘Learning to Save Lives Together’, in collaboration with the Spanish Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Council (CERCP) and the General Council of Physical and Sports Education (Consejo COLEF). Its goal is to train teachers and students between the ages of 10 and 17 so that they know what to do in the event of a cardiorespiratory arrest.
We invite you to check out the material we have prepared for teachers (training guides, videos and practical sessions), as we are conscious that they are the key to generating a multiplier effect on their students, friends and family members.
In addition, support resources for students such as videos, infographics and the video game Minecraft are key tools for an active approach. Training children at an early age is the best way to build a society that is aware of and prepared to deal with emergency situations.
