La función principal de un sistema de retención infantil es proteger al menor en caso de accidente. Como el cinturón de seguridad\/strong> está especialmente pensando para el tamaño de los adultos. – los niños necesitan “alzarse” o “elevarse” (de ahí el nombre de booster o “alzador”) para estar debidamente protegidos.\/p>\n
A medida que el niño crece, es necesario que los sistemas de retención infantil crezcan con ellos hasta que comienza a utilizar el cinturón de seguridad.\/strong> En este caso, los conocidos como elevadores buscan precisamente conseguir que el cinturón de seguridad se pueda adaptar de forma óptima y sujete adecuadamente al menor. \/p>\n
Los niños entre los 4 y los 12 años de edad aproximadamente (todo dependerá del peso y la altura) pueden comenzar a utilizar sillitas para los Grupos 2 y 3 (R-44\/04) o sistemas de retención infantil para más de 100 cm de altura (R-129). En ambos casos el cinturón de seguridad juega un papel fundamental y ya comienza a utilizarse para, posteriormente comenzar a utilizar únicamente el cinturón sin la necesidad de sillitas (mínimo hasta 1,35 cm).\/p>\n

Es importante tener en cuenta que el cinturón de seguridad debe pasar por las ranuras o guías que indica el fabricante\/strong>. De esta forma, evitamos una mala colocación.\/p>\n
Además de ofrecer una mayor protección, un elevador con respaldo ofrece más indicaciones para colocar el cinturón adecuadamente. \/p>\n
El cinturón nunca debe pasar por encima del cuello del niño y siempre hay que ajustarlo lo más bajo posible sobre las caderas. Por supuesto, se deben evitar holguras\/strong>. \/p>\n
