A mediados de marzo, se desbordaron seis r\u00edos en la capital peruana, Lima, por las fuertes lluvias que azotaban al pa\u00eds. Entre ellos, se encontraba uno de los principales r\u00edos de la ciudad, el r\u00edo R\u00edmac, causando graves da\u00f1os en las infraestructuras de las zonas m\u00e1s cercanas.\/p>\n
Las lluvias no cesaron, y se unieron a ella las piedras y el barro, dando como resultado el fen\u00f3meno extendido a todo el pa\u00eds llamado \u201cEl Ni\u00f1o Costero\/strong>\u201d, que ha dejado tras de s\u00ed 120 muertos, cientos de heridos y miles de personas damnificadas por toda la geograf\u00eda peruana.\/p>\n
Al ver la situaci\u00f3n desde Fundaci\u00f3n MAPFRE decidimos activar el plan\u00a0\/span>#EmergenciaPer\u00fa\/strong>. El 22 de marzo pusimos en marcha la log\u00edstica necesaria y abrimos las donaciones v\u00eda web para buscar la colaboraci\u00f3n de todos.\/p>\n
A las donaciones y ayuda enviada desde Fundaci\u00f3n MAPFRE, se uni\u00f3 la labor esencial de los seis\u00a0\/span>bomberos voluntarios del Consorcio Provincial de M\u00e1laga\/strong>, que viajaron hasta Per\u00fa para instalar\u00a0\/span>cuatro plantas potabilizadoras\/strong>\u00a0\/span>en Trujillo, Catacaos y Chimbote. Capaces de proporcionar\u00a0\/span>agua potable a m\u00e1s de 16.000 personas en situaci\u00f3n de riesgo\/strong>\u00a0\/span>y de garantizar el derecho al agua a la poblaci\u00f3n, las mismas redujeron enormemente graves problemas sanitarios.\/p>\n
El equipo de bomberos, unidos a las\u00a0\/span>3.500 bolsas de alimentos b\u00e1sicos\/strong>\u00a0\/span>que hicimos llegar a todas las personas sin acceso a comida por los da\u00f1os en las infraestructuras del pa\u00eds, y las plantas potabilizadoras, han conseguido que, poco a poco, y con la estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n del AECID y el OTC de Per\u00fa, la poblaci\u00f3n empiece a recuperar unas condiciones m\u00ednimas de normalidad despu\u00e9s de los catastr\u00f3ficos efectos de \u201cEl Ni\u00f1o Costero\u201d.\/p>\n
