Feel like a volunteer

Here is the decalogue of the good volunteer

Feel like a volunteer

Home > Social Action > Volunteering > Feel like a volunteer

Volunteering is based on dedication, solidarity and generosity. But being a volunteer is much more, it is a commitment to oneself and to others. Volunteers grow with each of their actions, they share goals and put the interests of others before their own. Volunteering is a way of life. Learn about the principles that govern the actions of our volunteers.

To be oneself

To be oneself. To be able to help others it is important to have self-confidence, to be convinced that it is possible. Being a volunteer connects with everything we are, with our principles and our goals.

Commitment and effort

Commitment and effort. Our volunteers put all their efforts into helping the most vulnerable people in our society.

Teamwork

Teamwork. For an action to be effective, volunteers work in a coordinated manner, not only in the distribution of tasks but also by agreeing on how to act in certain situations.

Generosity

Generosity. They put their will before the will of the people they are helping. A volunteer is generous and puts the needs of others first. Being a volunteer involves sacrifice, but entails great satisfaction.

Be realistic

Be realistic. Volunteers should know their limits, their timing and their expectations. Before committing to achieving certain goals, expectations must be clearly defined and whether they are feasible.

To act with solidarity, without expecting any material or economic compensation.

To act with solidarity, without expecting any material or economic compensation. The greatest reward for a volunteer is knowing that their help improves people’s quality of life.

Respect for others

Respect for others. For volunteers, equality and justice are the basis of their actions. For a volunteer, a person’s origin or social stratum is not important, we are all the same.

A total and disinterested dedication to help those who need it most.

A total and disinterested dedication to help those who need it most. Volunteers dedicate their time and effort to others. Their generosity overcomes any limits to their commitment.

Innovation

Innovation. Suggesting improvements and new initiatives, or proposing new ways to do things, are all part of our volunteers’ work. Innovating can help us reach out even further.

To be responsable

To be responsible with oneself, with your fellow volunteers, with the beneficiaries of the voluntary action, with the social entity that attends to these beneficiaries and with which they collaborate and, in the specific case of corporate volunteering, to be responsible with the company, which also contributes its grain of sand.
