Fundación Real Madrid helps integrate children and young people into the United States
Sporting values help children and young people brought up speaking a language other than English to integrate into the US education system
Current Project
Webster Public School (Massachusetts) applies the Fundación Real Madrid Sports Programme, which offers football and basketball training to a group of students who are learning English. For several years now, the number of students in this town whose first language is not English, but who need to speak English in order to integrate into the community, has been growing. This programme aims to help students during the transition period from middle school to high school. At this stage, language can become a major barrier to their integration, so it is essential to motivate students to keep studying, improve their English language skills and use sport, football and basketball under the Fundación Real Madrid methodology, to improve their social skills and abilities.
The entire programme is carried out in close contact with the families, so that the acquisition of good habits can be replicated and have continuity in the children’s own homes.
