The Jesuit Refugee Service offers education to refugee children and young people in Malta
Educational, social and legal support providing opportunities for displaced people
Current Project
JRS programmes currently operate in more than 50 countries and provide support for refugees and other forcibly displaced people. The main services are focused on mental health, psychosocial support, education and basic needs.
JRS Malta has significant experience in individualised education programmes. Although refugee children theoretically have the right to access education, in practice this is very complex. These challenges become part of the lives of these children who, as time goes by, find it difficult to build a stable and prosperous life in the country.
For this reason, the organisation also works on a number of projects aimed at helping young people gain access to the job market: from resume writing, to job interview skills and legal information on how to assert their rights as workers.
