This catalog, published in connection with the exhibition Tina Modotti (Údine, August 16, 1896-Mexico City, January 5, 1942), reclaims the figure of this artist who has gradually become better known since the 1970s. In addition to emphasizing her relationship with Spain, for the first time a seamless reconstruction of the figure of Modotti is proposed, both in her facet as an artist/photographer and as a revolutionary/anti-fascist militant.
The exhibition brought together around 240 photographs, which are presented in this publication together with various documentary material on display, as well as essays by the curator Isabel Tejeda and various other authors, Jorge Ribalta, Rosa Casanova, David Caliz, Laura Branciforte, Claudio Natoli, and Eva M. Vives.
