Looking to see. The language of photography

Through photographs from the Fundación MAPFRE Collections, Arola Valls Boffil, an exhibition curator, independent photography and contemporary art researcher, and lecturer at the University of Barcelona, guides us towards a deeper and more analytical vision of images.

In this way, it is possible for the gaze to stop and look through the images, establishing relationships that are very different to the fleeting and fragmentary consumption of images that is so characteristic of our times. Through the 190 pages of this publication, the author uses photographs from the Fundación MAPFRE Collections as the starting point for a privileged journey, a journey in which the main features and characteristics of the works are interwoven to provide a comprehensive learning experience on how to analyse and interpret images.
