The 228 pages of this catalogue bring together the work included in the first major retrospective on the photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson organised by the Bucerius Kunst Forum and the KBr Photography Centre. In addition to original silver gelatin prints belonging to the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in Paris and the portraits that the photographer took of well-known artists and writers, the exhibition brings together surrealist-influenced cinematographic works and political photographic reports.
The photographs contained in this publication, many of which are iconic, take the reader on a journey through the most important events of the 20th century and allow them to appreciate some of the social, political and artistic transformations of the last century, as well as the evolution of photography itself.
