At the beginning of the 20th century Russian was at the forefront of some of the most radical and revolutionary artistic and modern design movements. The exhibition From Chagall to Malevich: art in revolution, takes us through this unique avant-garde moment and is accompanied by an illustrated catalog containing essays from the exhibition curator, Jean-Louis Prat; from Yevguenia Petrova, deputy director of research at the Russian State Museum, Saint Petersburg; from Jean-Claude Marcadé, researcher and former director of the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) and Leyre Bozal, Fundación MAPFRE’s collections conservator. It also includes biographies, a timeline, a glossary prepared by Caroline Edde and texts by Leyre Bozal and Anna Wiech of Fundación MAPFRE.
