Bill Brandt (Hamburg, 1904-London, 1983) is considered one of the founders of modern photography. Although his work shows his interest in contemplating the world around him, the superiority of aesthetic considerations over documentary elements and a permanent attraction to everything that was strange, were two fundamental aspects in his career. This catalog accompanies the exhibition on the artist that opened in October 2020 at the Fundación MAPFRE KBr Photography Center, Barcelona. It includes specialized texts and reproductions of all the works on display, courtesy of the Bill Brandt Archive and the Edwynn Houk Gallery in New York.
