Motorcyclists and Road Safety

I was at a friend’s house and it got a bit late. It was dark and I had to go home on my motorcycle, which is in another town, taking a back road.

I was riding my bike on a conventional highway with one lane for each direction. It was a mountainous area, so there were plenty of bends. When I got close to one of those bends and I was turning into it, I realized that I was going too fast, so I braked.

I am a regular scooter rider in my city, Zaragoza. One day I was driving down a street with two lanes with lots of traffic. I was behind a car in the left lane and suddenly he jammed on the brakes and I hit the car from behind.

I usually drive my 400cc scooter in the city and I usually take bypasses and sections of highway for work purposes. In short, I change roads and lanes often, and sometimes I am in a hurry because my job requires me to be punctual.

I think that a scooter or a motorcycle is the best option to get to work comfortably and quickly. I also avoid using a car and running into traffic jams in the morning and the evening.

On the way to my office, I always take the same route and I pass by a somewhat problematic intersection that is marked with a stop sign. I always respect it. The problem occurs because the cars that are parked on the street that I want to merge onto usually block my field of vision too much from the stop line.

It was just another one of those Sundays when I take my motorcycle out with my friends to enjoy the mountain roads, an excuse to have a good time together. We are a group of motorcyclists who like to enjoy our motorcycles, but we always respect the speed limit given on the road.

Last week I was driving my motorcycle to work. I don’t need to leave the city to get to work, so the whole journey is in an urban environment. It was a bit cold and the sky was completely clear.
