Thanks to our joint efforts, Venezuela is stronger in its fight against coronavirus
We are helping to protect the general public through both sector-driven and individual initiatives
Wherever possible, we are forging partnerships that make us stronger in the fight against coronavirus. We are collaborating with the public health sector and the Venezuelan Superintendence of Insurance to deliver 4,000 masks, 4,000 pairs of gloves and 4,000 gowns for nursing staff to wherever they are most needed.
We are also taking care of senior citizens, adolescents and people in high-risk situations by supplying cleaning products, personal hygiene articles, disposable gloves, face masks, antibacterial gel, alcohol, chlorine, disposable diapers, and bed protectors. This material will be delivered to:
- Sociedad Civil Obra Social de La Madre y El Niño: A congregation that looks after children, adolescents and mothers at risk of exclusion.
- Asilo La Providencia Foundation: A care home for elderly men.
- Fundana: A foundation for abused and abandoned Venezuelan children.
- San Pedro Claver Care Home for the Elderly.
We also support the Madre María Luisa Foundation with which we have a cooperation agreement for education and nutrition for the Jenaro Aguirre School that looks after children in the community of Petare, one of the most disadvantaged areas of the city. We provide families in the community and teaching and administrative staff at the school (350 people in total) with personal hygiene and household cleaning products to disinfect their homes and prevent contagion. This support consists of 3N chlorine, laundry detergent, bath/shower soap, toothpaste, antiseptic alcohol, shampoo and face masks.
We collaborate with the organization Autismo en Voz Alta to alleviate the negative effects of an ongoing quarantine on people with autism and their families, by gradually returning to psycho-educational and therapeutic activities under the health requirements imposed by COVID-19.
By donating protection equipment such as thermometers, masks, gloves, cleaning supplies, disinfectant, chlorine, soap and antibacterial gel, we can generate the conditions that will allow us to offer support to children and adolescents with autism.
We donated sanitary material to the San Juan de Dios Hospital to provide medical-surgical material (masks, gloves, gauze, bedding, surgeon’s and nurse’s caps, gowns…) and disinfection material (concentrated chlorine, disinfectant, Gerdex and antiseptic alcohol) for the hospital’s health care staff.
We have supplied medical and surgical material (masks, gloves, caps and gowns for doctors and nurses), disinfectant material and multiparameter monitors for the post-surgery recovery ward of the Orthopedic Children’s Hospital. We also donated medical and surgical material to the San Juan de Dios Hospital (masks, gloves, gauze, bed pads, surgeon’s and nurse’s caps, gowns, etc.) and disinfectant material (concentrate chlorine, disinfectant, Gerdex and antiseptic alcohol) for the hospital’s healthcare staff.
For healthcare staff at the Dr. Rafael Azuaje Urban Type III Hospital we donated nitrile gloves, gauze, bed pads, disposable gowns, adult diapers, antiseptic gel, alcohol and concentrated chlorine. The Hogar Clínica San Rafael received surgical, medical and disinfectant equipment to protect the health and safety of the people who work there as well as the patients.
We also delivered medical and surgical equipment (masks, gloves, gauze, caps and gowns for surgeons and nursing staff) and disinfectant material to the State Health Department of the State of La Guaira, and we donated healthcare material to the Madre Emilia Community, namely masks, nitrile gloves, gauze, bed pads, disposable gowns, adult diapers, antiseptic gel, alcohol and concentrated chlorine.
