Road Safety

Floriano crashed his motorcycle into a tree at high speed. He became paraplegic and had to learn to live again. Nothing will ever be the same, not for him, nor for his family and friends.

This is one case among many, too many. Raquel, Ana, Ricardo… they also bear the marks of the road. Different accidents with different consequences, but what they all have in common is the fact that they have all had their dreams crushed and their lives will never be the same again.

Bewilderment, grief, emptiness that cannot be filled. These are some of the consequences of a traffic accident, of what was lost on the road, of what should never have happened.

What happened that day? How can everything change so drastically in an instant? A car that does not brake in time, reckless behavior, a distraction; every year, thousands of people see their lives cut short in an instant by their own or someone else’s bad decisions, all with devastating consequences.

How long will we have to keep hearing these stories?

On World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, we are focusing on all the victims: those who are no longer with us, those who suffer physical and mental consequences, and also those who live with the pain of loss. Respect for their memory drives us to keep working, educating and sharing our efforts to achieve Goal Zero Victims, so that no more people will see their lives cut short on the road.

Remember. Support. Act.
