Protective equipment for the island of La Palma
Fundación MAPFRE Guanarteme delivers a first emergency aid package
Social Action
The residents of La Palma need protective equipment to avoid inhalation and dermal and ocular exposure to ash and toxic gases from volcanic emissions.
To cover this need, Fundación MAPFRE Guanarteme has activated a first package of emergency measures, worth 65,000 euros, which includes a total of 26,000 FFP1 and FFP2 masks, as well as 2,000 protective goggles and 30,000 single-dose eye drop containers to be distributed to the population and to security and emergency forces.
In addition, shelves have been delivered to the main humanitarian aid centres set up in the most impacted towns of the island, which, given the great response received from solidarity networks, had run out of space to organise the donations of clothing, hygiene products, food and household items received.
We want to address the needs of the people affected by the volcanic eruption. We want to contribute to their personal, social and economic recovery.
At Fundación MAPFRE we stand with the residents of La Palma. All our support and solidarity go to them.
