Foundations and NGOs that operate in the third sector, a total of 28,000 institutions, face daily legal issues ranging from the representation of these entities to their relationship with the public authorities, including issues such as taxation, data protection, prevention of money laundering and many other matters.
To help navigate these more often than not uncharted waters, a team of lawyers from Pérez-Llorca, in collaboration with our Legal Advisory team, have prepared a guide with a comprehensive approach to the most relevant legal aspects relating to our day-to-day operations.
Constanza Vergara Jaakkola, partner and COO at Pérez-Llorca; Dídac Severino, partner at Pérez-Llorca; Isabel Jiménez Mancha, CSR director at Pérez-Llorca; Julio Domingo Souto, General Manager of Fundación MAPFRE and Pilar García Ceballos-Zúñiga, President of the Spanish Association of Foundations (AEF), participated in the presentation of the publication.
At the event, Julio Domingo Souto, author of the foreword, stressed the importance of transparency and professionalization of third sector organizations in order to guarantee their continuity and the trust placed in them by society: “This publication is a valuable source of legal knowledge that provides agents and non-profit entities with the necessary tools and understanding to carry out their mission autonomously and effectively.”
Written with the aim of reaching everyone, the publication has been written in understandable and accessible language and presents a balance between legal rigor and practicality that will allow entities in the third sector to understand the relevant regulatory obligations and be able to effectively develop their activities.
