Between the years 2000 and 2002, Anna Malagrida portrayed her subjects at their house in a series titled Interiores (Interiors). In the words of the artist herself: “The models were always friends or family members, and I liked the idea of going to their houses and constructing the scenes […] Models would have to pose for extended periods of time and remain completely still, without blinking. This way of experiencing time by part of the subjects emptied their faces of anecdotal expressions and made them active participants in the experience of posing, contemplation, and perception; being present in the moment”.
Although these scenes were prepared, the absence of artifice makes them appear as intimate portrayals of daily life, allowing the viewer to become a voyeur.
